Do you accept Medicaid?
All four of our pediatric dental offices accept Virginia Medicaid for kids, including Cardinal Care Smiles (formerly Smiles For Children), DentaQuest and Doral. For braces, Virginia Medicaid pays only when a case meets the state's medical necessity criteria under Cardinal Care, and that is decided case by case. More about Medicaid at RPDO.
Is the orthodontic consultation free?
Yes. The first orthodontic consultation is free, for kids, teens and adults, and there is no obligation to start treatment. More about the free consultation.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book pediatric dentistry or an orthodontic consultation directly.
What if my child has a dental emergency?
Call (804) 741-2226 instead of using the form, so we can tell you what to do right away. After hours, our doctors are on call to consult on emergent needs, and the doctor decides whether your child needs emergency treatment or a trip to the emergency department. More on emergency care for kids.
Can my child see the dentist and the orthodontist here?
Yes. Pediatric dentistry and orthodontics are part of the same practice, so your child's X-rays and history are in one chart. Short Pump, Mechanicsville and Midlothian offer both.
