During your first visit to our office, it is important for your child to establish a dental home in a positive and friendly environment. During the first visit, you can expect us to obtain important background information, like your child’s medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor.
Our office, along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Academy of Pediatrics, recommends that your child be seen for their first dental visit at age one. As your child enters our kid-friendly office, we will introduce him/her to our wonderful dental team. During this first dental visit, the staff and doctors will review your child’s medical history, dental history, dietary habits, and oral hygiene routines at home.
The purpose of this first dental visit is to provide your family with the knowledge of how to care for your child’s teeth now and in the future. Please feel free to ask us any questions you have about your child’s teeth or hygiene techniques. We want this first visit to be educational, fun, and exciting for both your child and family.
How to Prepare Your Child
We encourage you to talk to your child about their upcoming dental visit. We recommend reading books that help explain what will happen at the dentist office. You can also explain what we will be doing in a language that your child will understand.
