At Richmond Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we’re proud to give back to our community by donating to local nonprofits and supporting local schools. We believe in addressing the specific needs of our community, such as access to healthcare services, educational programs and other vital resources. By contributing to these initiatives, we hope to improve the health and quality of life of our community in addition to supporting our wonderful patients and their families.
Our Smiles For Change program allows us to donate to a different charitable organization every month. In the first year of the program alone, over 1,600 patients participated, allowing us to contribute over $5,000 to local nonprofits. To support the organization of the month, all you have to do is select the corresponding color ties for your braces. When you do so, we will make a donation in your honor. Additionally, patients without braces have the option of donating if they wish to. It’s a fun and easy way to support a good cause in our community, and we are thankful to each and every patient who participates. You really can make a difference with your smile!
During the first year of our Smiles For Change program, we supported the following local non-profits:
Feed More: By choosing lime green color ties in November, we helped provide over 800 meals to the Richmond community for the holidays.
Breast Cancer Research Foundation: We supported clinical research on breast cancer, so those affected can live longer, healthier lives and so that one day we may find a cure.
Richmond Make A Wish Ball: We raised over $400,000 towards granting wishes and renewing strength for children fighting serious illnesses.
Richmond Animal League (RAL): Your support allowed us to feed all of the dogs in the shelter for one week!
CelebrateRVA: We helped purchase party supplies to support 10 children’s birthday parties.
Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation: With your help, we provided free access to tools that help support the mental wellness of local teenagers.
Blue Sky Fund: We helped ensure more youth have the opportunity to experience the transformative power of the great outdoors.
Sportable: Through our collaboration with Sportable, we helped a person with a spinal cord injury kayak down the James River.
Salvation Army Angel Tree: You helped us sponsor three local children, ensuring they had gifts under the tree for the holiday season.
Richmond Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics values the importance of education both inside and outside of our office. In 2023, we partnered with over 35 local schools and daycares. We welcome the opportunity to visit your school for dental education visits, support your school’s PTA events, and fund teacher appreciation initiatives.
