It is common for children to experience anxiety for a dental procedure. At Richmond Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we strive to help your child feel at ease with the administration of sedation. Our team is trained to deliver sedation to your child in order to calm their nerves. Prior to your child’s appointment, our team will go over the options with you to determine if pediatric dental sedation is a good choice.

Our team has the expertise, knowledge and compassion to help your child overcome a tongue-tie or lip tie. This condition occurs when the frenulum (a small piece of tissue) is too short or too thick and restricts your baby’s ability to move their tongue or lip freely. As a result, it may be difficult for them to breastfeed. We are able to resolve this condition by performing a lingual or labial frenectomy procedure with a CO2 laser. Since we use a laser, this minimizes any pain or bleeding and speeds up your baby’s recovery.
