Please join us in welcoming our newest orthodontist, Dr Payton Cook, to the Richmond Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics team! As an orthodontist, Dr. Cook loves watching patients gain confidence throughout their treatment. Dr. Cook’s favorite part of her job is witnessing patients’ joy the day their braces are removed or their treatment ends. They truly shine from the inside out, and she is so honored to be part of that transformation.
Though she was born in Dallas, Texas, Dr Payton Cook moved to the Richmond area as a young child. She couldn’t be more excited to care for patients in the community she grew up in.
Dr Payton Cook’s Education
Dr. Cook is a graduate of Shady Grove Elementary, Short Pump Middle and Deep Run High School. She attended the University of South Florida for her undergraduate degree, where she majored in Biomedical Sciences with a dual minor in Biomedical Physics and Biomedical Engineering while playing collegiate soccer. She went on to attend dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and studied orthodontics at the University of Texas Health and Science Center at Houston.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Cook looks forward to marrying her dental school sweetheart this fall, who is currently in his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at VCU. She is a self-proclaimed fitness junkie and played Division 1 soccer in college. When she’s not looking at teeth, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the gym and scoping out new running trails in Richmond!
